Rest of the Crimson Worlds Series

Just a quick post...I promised a while back to provide a little info on the rest of the Crimson Worlds series.  I wasn't sure if one story arc would stretch to another book or not, but I can pretty well state that the following is how the series will continue and conclude.

The Line Must Hold (release date mid-June, 2013)

To Hell's Heart (September 2013)

The Shadow Legions (December 2013)

Even Legends Die (March 2014)

Fall (June 2014)

That makes nine novels in total, which will bring the series to a definite conclusion.

There are a couple prequel novellas to come as well.  Also, I have notes for a possible future series set in the same universe...more on that later.

  1. *Gulp* Even Legends Die?

Ugh, Holmes or Erik... if it's Erik I will cry myself to sleep. Though I have a feeling it will be Holmes.

  2. I am a fan. Like the series. I think, however, that your plan is to slowly kill off the protagonists. It is one way to end the story.

  3. Lol. I will repeat my no comment, with this one response. Ok, I guess that's one comment...but that's all.

I have no plan to kill or not kill a certain number of characters. They face a very dangerous universe, and it is not unlikely that others will die, but some will also survive.

  4. Er I do hope you don't pull a George R. R. Martin on us and kill every character we get attached too >_>

Any definite release date on the next book yet Jay?

  5. No George Martin here. I don't like killing main characters. Just when I get a good feel for writing them they are gone. Still, the CW folks live in a dangerous universe...

I don't think it's possible to express how the characters feel unless we see them losing some of their own. I certainly don't think it would do justice to the military experience (one many of my readers have experienced) without having the realistic danger of losing friends and comrades.

Some, but not all, of the characters will make it to the end of the nine books I have plotted.

And that's all you're going to get out of me!

  6. So...are these books still happening or... (forgive me for my impatience)

  7. Yes, they are still happening! Book 5 should be out in about a week. Then a new prequel novella a couple weeks later.

  9. I think I'm stumped on the reference. I have a feeling I'm going to have a duh moment when I find out what it is.

Hayden - You will note that the official release date is July, as drafted by my extensive team of highly skilled attorneys, and I will beat that handily. I may even offer an unseemly self-congratulatory display on my earliness this time!

  12. You guys are the best. Careful, or all this will turn me into an egomaniac!

I promise it will be out by the weekend. Maybe a bit sooner. And I will post here and send an email to the list as soon as it is up.

It ran a little longer than book four.
